Cookies

I actually baked yesterday. Not one of my favorite things to do at all. Baking is too exact. But with our 3rd day housebound I had to do SOMETHING. Poor B was going stir crazy, mama was going stir crazy and we needed a treat. So I made super yummy oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies. Here is the recipe if you are interested. I ended up cooking mine for 14 minutes because we prefer a crisper cookie and thus less toddler mess.

Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon molasses
¼ cup milk
1 egg, slightly beaten

4-6 oz baking chocolate, I cut mine up with a serrated knife.

1 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt

1 ¾ cups uncooked oatmeal

Method:
Preheat oven to 350.  Mix flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.

Cream the sugar with the butter and shortening.
Add molasses, milk and egg and stir.
Add chocolate chunks

Add in flour mixture and finally the oats.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet for about 12 minutes, or until the edges are brown.

The Challenge

The challenge:
To use my crafting supplies and design knowledge to actually MAKE something.

Why?:
Because my wonderful husband has declared I cannot buy any more "stuff" before I start using some that we already have!

The real reason...:
Well I guess we will find out!

The goal:
I guess it is to actually make things. But mostly I think it is for me to take time to do something JUST for me, that I like doing. Not worrying about "B" and her Dora fixation or whether or not she has eaten anything worth while today. And not worrying about my husbands laundry being done or the pile of dishes that didn't fit in the dishwasher. This is for me!
